Dr. Brodsky takes a different approach than the "lay on the couch" kind, and straps poor Alex to a chair, filling him with drugs and forcing him to watch unspeakable horrors.
Dr. Derek Shepherd (Grey's Anatomy) A physician is an unspecialized doctor: They need to know about everything, but only enough to diagnose and refer to another doctor, a specialist. Dr. Derek Shepherd is a general practitioner on Grey's Anatomy.
Okwe (Dirty Pretty Things) An anesthesiologist ensures the patient feels no pain. Even as an anesthesiologist turned cab driver, Okwe, continues his work by treating his taxi like a mobile clinic for his ailing customers.
Daphne Moon (Frasier) A physical therapist assesses the needs of patients and then shows them exercises to relieve pain or tension. Daphne is a live-in physical therapist, though I've never seen her do a bit of physical therapy.
