Forum Topic: "What are my chances at South Carolina, MSU, IU or Clemson"

Post a new topic
I have a 3.3 GPA, 1150 SAT, I have played 4 years of bball and 2 years of track. Have joined at least 5 clubs and have done a ton of community service. Have taken 4 honors classes and 2 AP's.

What are my chances at USC, MSU, IU or Clemson?

Depends...is that a 3.3 weighted or unweighted GPA? If it's unweighted, I'd say you're in for sure.

i don't know if it is weighted or not but if it is weighted is it more of a stretch? and if so for which schools?
- gospartans
I would say USC is a huge stretch, and you are probably in at msu, iu and clemson, I live in michigan and am looking at the exact same schools how weird, what are you planning on majoring in

I'm really not set on one major yet, but if i had to pick, it would probably be buisness. Is South Carolina really a stretch? I've heard that it really isn't that hard to get into
- gospartans
oh im sorry i though you meant university of southern california, i didn't read your topic centance carefully.
- goblue1162
but ya you could probably get into all of them

MSU, IU, and Clemson are shoe ins. I know kids with lower gpa's and test scores that have got in. You will be fine if you have a good essay and recs. USC will be hard if you are not from California. They only accept few out of staters because they have to accept a certain number of Cali residents each year. Good Luck

Arielle09, she meant University of Southern Carolina and University of Southern California is a private school so you don't have to be from California to get in. It would be equal chance of getting in. I know Clemson is harder to get in now. I would say work on your GPA more take AP classes in senior year. My friends who got into Clemson had over 3.7 GPA and 30 on ACT.

Are you from South Carolina? If so I say you have a pretty good shot at USC and Clemson. I live in SC and I know a good bit of kids who go to Carolina (my sis just graduated from there) and Clemson. To me you look like a pretty good candidate for USC and Clemson, being that neither one is really selective.
