Consultant: Leaving on which Jet Plane?

Rating: 3/5 (1 ratings)
Introduction
There is a lot of travel involved in this position, which can be fun if that fits your personality. Keep in mind though that there is generally more back-office than front page work.

Job Function
The best part of my job is the people. At least at my company, they are very intelligent and you feel like they contribute. The worst parts are either the travel or the politics.
Lifestyle
It's work hard, play hard, if you want to have a social life in this business. There is some flexibility as far as hours and location but you have to fight for it. You need to have tough skin in this business and a willingness to say no.

Additional Information
If you KNOW what you want to do in life, do it. Consulting is something you can get into later in life. Better to get into what you want to get into right away. If you're not sure, this is probably a good job to get a feel for what you like!
