Education (Adminstrative, Teaching, etc.): Elementary Teacher

Rating: 1/5 (1 ratings)
Introduction
You need to be organized and have a lot of patiance with adults and children. You also need excellent communication skills and be willing to work very hard without getting paid and recognized for it every time.

Job Function
The best part is that I know I am helping children who may not have a chance at a good future any other way. I also enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with children.

I do not like people who are not teachers and who think they know what the job is like. I do not like when parents blame teachers when they don't even know what they are talking about. I hate when people say teachers have easy jobs. I especially dislike when people don't treat children fairly.

Lifestyle
A lot of work and a little play. My job makes me so tired that sometimes I don't have energy to have fun. I get sick a lot because many kids come to school sick and spread germs. The hours seem flexible to everyone but they are not flexible to people who have children of their own. Teachers rarely have time to go to their own children's schools for activities and field trips.

My job is only 10 minutes away so I am lucky. My hours are good. People that have a lot of inner strength and confidence.

Additional Information
Teaching is a hard job that is not valued by enough people. It is not a job that is easy with summers off. Society puts a lot of stress on teachers. Many parents leave teachers to raise their children. It is hard to be a teacher now.
