banquets: hospitality

Rating: 4/5 (1 ratings)
Introduction
If you are considering a position in a banquet department, recognize, that they are long hours, physical lifting, but is a great environment to work in. You meet alot of people, and most places have a great employee environment.

Job Function
The best were meeting hundreds of people every day, serving them, working with others that are doing the same thing. When I became a manager the duties changed from doing payroll, scheduling, ordering, inventory, many new challenges. If you love people, are willing to wrok very hard. The onlu drawback, are the long hours - I worded an average of 40 hours from Fri to Sun. I love everything else.
Lifestyle
You have to know when to work and when to play. The staff I worked with socialized outside of work, went to each others' house for parties, etc. We were really a great team. It takes alot of work ethic, dedication, willing to take orders and follow through. It is a very rewarding career if that's what you're looking for.

Additional Information
Remember, it is alot of hours, but the pay is good, and most provide great benefits/
