The atmosphere is lively and you will come in contact with really awesome people with wacky stories to tell, which will eventually become the stories you tell your friends. I like to call myself a proponent of nightlife debauchery.
Job FunctionIf a customer asks for a beer, you give them a beer. If they as for a tequila sunrise, you give them a tequila sunrise. The work is pretty simple. It can get hectic sometimes; there is no time to sit down. Don't forget to clean the bar!

LifestyleThe hours are usually late. If you work on the west coast, you will be out of the bar at about 3 AM; on the east coast the time varies. The daytime hours are all free.
Additional InformationNo formal "bar education" is needed, but experience is absolutely necessary. It helps to go to bartending school; getting a grip on the basics is key. Also pick up some of those flair moves, they sure help with the tips. The number one perk, a patron buying you shots! Be careful, if you're drunk you definitely can't serve drinks well.
