Nurse: Career Review

Rating: 3/5 (1 ratings)
Introduction
It is hard work and physical work. Most of the job satisfaction comes from within-having the satisfaction of helping someone and learning every day.

Job Function
I enjoy making a patient and/or family's life easier. I get great satisfaction from teaching and empowering them. The hardest part is the physical care.
Lifestyle
The hours are very flexible because you can choose shifts based on lifestyle and family needs. You have to be self motivated, willing to learn and be flexible and take criticism constructively. Managers can be difficult to deal with because of balancing patient care and budgets.

Additional Information
You have to love the care you give and the patient population you work with. Sometimes its not all about the money and nursing is not a money making profession unless you become upper management (Director or Vice President).
