Real Estate Agent: Commercial Leasing Associate

Rating: 3/5 (93 ratings)
Introduction
If you do not have a background in Real Estate, there is definitely a learning curve. If you can be patient and push through the first 6 to 8 months, it will all come together.

Job Function
The best aspects are that I get to interact with a huge variety of people, and learn a ton about different businesses that I otherwise wouldn't get the chance to be exposed to. The worst aspect (which is really because I am a young female) is that the Commercial Real Estate industry is dominated by "the good ole boys" and in many situations it is extremely challenging to be taken seriously and to be respected by my peers.

Lifestyle
There is definitely room for play in this industry. I spend a lot of time networking which means happy hours, lunches out, golf and organizing events to promote my company's properties. The hours are always changing and really just depend on what is going on in the office. Some days I leave at 4:00 others I stay until 7:00. A person who is driven, ready to take on challenges and solve problems, would be most successful in this career.

Additional Information
Commercial Real Estate has a lot to offer. Everyday it is different which keeps it exciting.
