YOU CAN BE A WOMAN OCEANOGRAPHER

Description:
Oceanography is the study of the oceans, but since that covers so much it is usually divided into four parts, and an oceanographer usually specializes in one part. Biological Oceanography covers the study of plants and animals that live in the ocean and how they interact with their environment. Chemical Oceanography is the study of what the sea water is made of and how it changes when things dissolve into it or settle out of it. Physical Oceanography covers movement of the water. Waves are movements that you can see on the surface. Other movements include currents and tides. The wind and changes in temperature and saltiness of sea water contribute to the movements. Geological Oceanography is the study of rocks and sediment on the sea floor. It also includes the study of undersea volcanoes and movements of the ocean bottom.
