School Principal - Administrator: Mr. Richard Belding (Saved by the Bell)
You are the authority, the final word. At the same time you must be a friend to the students. Be their princi-pal. And although it may be hard, you must remember that students move on and you can't follow them to college. But cheer up, there will always be a new class, even if they don't have the ratings.

College Professor: Teaching as Mentoring and Earning Trust
First, how to get there: Challenge yourself to learn and to understand what you learn in detail; learning is like a snowball. My first classroom experience was with 8th graders. I was given a very challenging group of kids, not the brightest in educational ability. In fact they were, and this is a quote from an...

Educator (Adminstrative, Teaching, etc.): Grants Administrator
The advice I give is good for almost any career. Start with a college degree (in almost any field) and learn to be well organized. Common sense and good judgement are the most valuable attributes, and computer skills (not just internet browsing and instant messaging, but real skills like spreadsheets and databases) are essential.

Educator (Adminstrative, Teaching, etc.): Nanny
I would tell them that they have to be more than just "interested" in children to consider a job as a nanny. You have to be willing to really listen, to be patient and understanding, and to be ready for anything. It's a job that changes from family to family, from child to child.
