Baylor's claim to fame is that it's a Christian (Baptist) university. That being said, you don't have to be a Christian to come here, and no one is going to look down on you if you're a different religion. In fact, I haven't been to church since I've attended Baylor (shhhhh).

If you are thinking about Baylor, make sure that you fit into the Upscale White Baptisit mold that they have going on here. If you drive a Audi, love your frat brothers/soror sisters, believe in creationism, want to help "cure" gay people, and your idea of diversity is your "black friend", Baylor is the place for you!! Fill out an application ASAP. However, if you fall into the democrat liberal bracket and believe in welfare, gay/lesbian rights,and/or pro-choice, you should probably avoid Baylor...

Baylor University: The Baylor Bubble
Baylor is an outstanding school for those who are looking for top academic programs, outstanding athletic programs, and a wide variety of involvement opportunities all within a Christian environment. It has both the advantages of a large university, but also the comfort of being a small community that feels like family. Baylor is a great place to be, but if you're not interested in a faith-based institution, it might not be the right fit for you.

Baylor University: My thoughts of the school I love
I chose Baylor because of its outstanding faculty and staff that are ready and willing to help you in any way possible. Being the largest Baptist university in the world, it is very easy to find a professor who is willing to help you not only succeed in class, but also in the world. I love how we have an "open door" policy by our professors who are required to have at least 12 hours of office hours that students can drop by and ask professors about ANYTHING.

Baylor University: Great Place to Come of Age
Even though it is private, Baylor has the feel of a state school, especially during the first two years. It is a great school for those Texans who don't get into A&M or UT becuase of the top 10% rule. As for the scene here, I'd say there is a place for everyone. There's even an Atheist/Agnostic club. Having said that, if you are very liberal and don't like conservatives, you might want to find another school...it is Texas, after all.

Baylor University: Baylor Bare
Baylor is an excellent place for academics, it's a respected school by other Texas institutions and you know you'll get somewhere because of it. If you have a mean streak of independence (thought or dress) you might want to reconsider though, conservativity runs pretty thick.
