BYU - Brigham Young: Why BYU May Be For You
If you're looking for a school with high moral expectations, BYU is for you. There's an honor code that can provide the protection or excuse your need to keep your standards high. If you want an environment where most people are trying to live clean lives, this is the place. No drinking, smoking, drugs, or sexual promiscuity (there are cases, to be sure, but compared to other schools it's nonexistent). If you want to stay over at your girlfriend's place past midnight though, ...

BYU - Brigham Young: The Bubble
Just remember this is a very serious college, not a party school. Some classes will be a lot more difficult than expected. Probobaly the most important piece of advice is don't get behind. Most teachers think that their class is the most important, so do the work and they will love you!

Visit before you come and realize how different it probably is than what one would imagine. GET INVOLVED. The fun isn't going to find you, but make sure that you are with group of people that will be friends for life.

BYU - Brigham Young: Is the Mormon school right for you?
Stay away if you are liberal in any means. Okay...even a little less than conservative. Most kids that do well here are kind of like followers. The unique kids have a hard time fitting in. It's a great spiritual experience, but don't be surprised: some Mormon kids aren't as nice as they profess to be!

BYU - Brigham Young: Great school for the right person
The biggest piece of advice I would give to a high school student considering BYU is make sure you know what you are getting into. That may sound negative, but it isn't meant to be in any way. BYU is a wonderful place as long as it matches the qualities for which you are looking. If you want a school that is primarily an undergraduate institution where the professors are concerned first and foremost about the student and research comes second, BYU would be a good place for you. If you wa...

BYU - Brigham Young: Good Clean Fun
The main advice I have is to not listen to all the talk about how BYU is a super strict school where you can never do anything. I chose BYU because it's a place where I can get a great education and have good, clean fun at the same time. I never have to worry about coming home and seeing my roommates high, or getting it on with their girlfriend in my bedroom. The only kind of person who should stay away is the type who can't keep the word of wisdom and the law of chastity. Everyone e...

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU is God's School
When considering BYU, think about it with a prayer. I chose BYU because it felt correct. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, not everyone has to go to BYU, and definitely not everyone makes it. It doesn't make you less of a person for not going to BYU. Schools are like stakes and each needs to be strengthened by those with good gifts, and the capacity to understand and reason through the best parts of life. Those who purposely would intend to break the...

BYU - Brigham Young: Why Choose BYU?
Living by the Honor Code is key at BYU. Everything that you do is centered around it. Teachers expect you to live by it and give you a lot more trust because you signed it. It makes dorm life so much more fun to know that creepy people can't follow you home and your roommates and floor buddies are more likely to be friends because you all have something in common. Stay away from BYU if you aren't willing to live by the Honor Code. If it annoys you, if you will end up complaining abo...

BYU - Brigham Young: Study hard, play harder.
If you are serious about getting a really good education for not a lot of money then BYU is for you. If you want to be challenged while still feeling smart, then BYU is for you.

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU is awesome!
BYU is a place where you can feel comfortable and safe. Everyone holds the same values here, so you don't have to worry about being pressured to do what you know is wrong. Academics are challenging, but you're not likely to find a better education anywhere else. You can meet and date people with your same standards, which is a blessing. Students who like to drink, smoke, or have sexual relations before marriage SHOULD NOT attend BYU. There is a very strict honor code, and if you can...

BYU - Brigham Young: Brigham Young University
BYU is a difficult university and is much different from the ease of high school. It has a much different atmosphere as well, it has a very peaceful and happy atmosphere that is different from any other place ive been. Do not come to BYU if you are not interested in being challenged academically and want to party. Academics and spirituality are the main goals of BYU and so coming here those should be your goals as well or this place really isnt for you.

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU is the best!
BYU is a great university because it's not just an education like most other schools, it's an entire experience. It's one of the least expensive schools you can attend because of the tithing contributions. There is so much to do here - from rolling down library hill to attending concerts of all sorts, comedy groups, and free/cheap movies. The people here are awesome - not only the students, but also the professors. The entire campus has a good atmosphere to it and they really do ...

BYU - Brigham Young: Rebels need not apply
People who like to party should not come to this school. If you want to be a rebel, this isn't the place to do it. If you are considering the school read the honor code and you will get a decent idea of what they expect of you here. It is not followed really strictly, but they are the guidelines for living here.

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU Rocks
The best advice I can give you is come with good study habits and a good work ethic, It will make everything so much more stress free. I chose BYU because it has a great reputation and it has a great atmosphere. We are all friends here. The kind of student that doesn't get his or her work done on time shouldn't come to BYU. Also the kind that like to party in a not so clean way shouldn't come here.

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU has the highest Honor
If you go to this school knowing the rules and stipulations of the honor code, you will be fine. I chose this school because of the high standard that it held for it's students. If you are not big on rules, then this is not the university for you. It has a very high quality of life, but that is because of all of the students that contribute to living the honor code.

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU- you get more than you pay for
What sets BYU apart from other school is that it is filled with Mormons. I grew up in Boston, where the LDS church is much smaller, and so this part of BYU intrigued me. What new BYU students need to realize is this: there are tons of Mormons here, and due to the laws of averages and mathematics there are all sorts of Mormons here too. Outsiders think BYU is homogenous. I think that that is more of a commentary on the Mormon church than of BYU. As far as a group of Mormons go, BYU is really...

BYU - Brigham Young: The Bubble
I would say that one of the most attractive things about BYU is the Honor Code. The Honor Code is a set of values that each student is expected to live. The main things that the Honor Code prevent are cheating, swearing, drinking, drugs, and premarital sex. Basically if you would enjoy a school where the students are nice, there is not a lot of temptation to do wrong, and you don't mind leaving your girlfriend's apartment by midnight then this is the school for you. If you enjoy doing al...

BYU - Brigham Young: BYU is great
BYU is a great environment. It has a lot of things that other schools don't have, and you have to expect that going into the situation. If you're considering BYU, you should stay away if you're not able to live up to the moral standards required. I chose to go BYU because it was a chance to be around other LDS students, which is probably the most attractive thing that the school has to offer.
