This school is absolutely amazing for job opportunities and getting you hooked up with a great career. Dumb jocks and blonde bimbos need not apply. Parties are okay and there is always Upitt which is just 5 min away but state school kids would not be happy here. Academics. Everything at CMU revolves around academics so if you decide to spend four years of your life here be prepared to study for four years. It seems that there aren't many activities around campus, besides the weak athletic programs, that don't promote academics and studying. If you are the type of student that has motivation to go to every class, work every night in the library, enjoy masochistic work then this is the place for you... Those who shouldn't come here: Students who don't want to tackle 2 majors at once.

Carnegie Mellon: Not just for nerds.
Be prepared to work hard here. I was a slacker in high school, but being here makes you focus and try harder, juat don't expect to have much free time.

Carnegie Mellon: Carnegie Mellon was the best choice of my life
Carnegie Mellon has the brightest, most capable, and more ambitious students in the country. They have so much potential that someday those studets will turn out to become the next executives and leaders worldwide. I chose it for its inter-disciplinary education and top rankings in Business and Engineering. It's not the biggest party school in the nation, but there is a social scene for sure.

Carnegie Mellon: CMU - A good school if you are willing to make the best of it!
CMU was not high on my list of schools to go to. I decided to come after they gave me a huge scholarship. With that said, I really enjoy myself here. Don't come to CMU if you are looking for a party school or even a "typical" college experience. You should also consider not applying to CMU if you can not handle doing a lot of schoolwork.
