I chose Holy Cross because i felt that it had a "work hard, play hard" atmostphere which i gravitated to.

Holy Cross: Crusader Fan
Holy Cross is such an awesome place. It's welcoming, noncompetitive, and fosters a sincere love of learning. It's a great place to go to college, but college is always going to be what you make of it. The opportunities for academic and personal enrichment here are pretty much limitless, but you've got to reach out and take advantage of them. The opportunities to work and study abroad at Holy Cross are particularly exceptional. The winters are cold but manageable.

It is a small school and fairly homogeneous. If you are countercultural you would probably like a bigger school

Holy Cross: Hard Work Load
Choose HC if you genuinely like to participate in extracurricular activities (esp. volunteering, club/intrameural sports, student government, etc.) Also, HC has a hard work load, but it's worth it when you get accepted into the best medical and law schools in the country. There's a big party scene at HC, but if that's not your thing you'll find plenty to do. It's not a suitcase school, so don't choose it if you plan on going home each weekend. Holy Cross: Great Classes, Nice People, Needs Better Party Scene
I chose the school because of its great english program, proximity to Boston, and gorgeous campus. Students are nice and well-rounded, but a little homogenous. I would not recommend this school for theater or art majors, as those programs are not hugely popular. Students who don't drink may not find the social scene very exciting at all, although Holy Cross does try to provide a lot of weekend activities. Also, be prepared for preppiness.
