Cornell: CORNELL!
A lot of people thing that Cornell is going to be easy just because it's the easiest ivy to get into, if a high school student is looking at Cornell for that reason, Big Mistake! The workload here is probably even more so than at other Ivies, my friend at Brown doesn't do work as much as i do. Although we may be the easiest to get into, we are also the hardest to stay in. Our grades are definitely earned and not inflated like at schools such as Harvard or Yale. But don't be mislead, although i...

Cornell: No Regrets
"Any person...any study." In the words of Ezra Cornell, you can pretty much study anything you want here. Academics are a priority for essentially everyone on campus, otherwise they wouldn't have gotten in. Be prepared to work your ass off, but also to have a great time, because as much as we study, we party that much harder. It's why I chose Cornell -- there's a great balance between work and play, and everyone around you is just as interested in maintaining a decent GPA as they are in shotgunn...

Cornell: SO-SO Time at Cornell...
I chose Cornell because it demonstrated a long-standing, strong commitment to diversity and it's a very large school offering an outstanding variety of majors, extra-curricular activities, clubs, academic, and socail opportunities. Also it's reputation for five-star dining facilities (which it definitely lives up to) drew me to Cornell. If you don't like working really, really, and I mean REALLY hard to get A's in most classes, seriously freezing, icy, and downright brutal winters, 20-30 min wal...

Cornell: such diversity in one university
People who like Cornell are people who like to try new things every week, meet new people constantly, and work as hard as the next pre-med while they're at it. There are a lot of things to sink your teeth into, as long as academics don't kill you first.

Cornell: Far Above Cayuga's Waters
If you want a world-class education and aren't afraid to work very, very hard, then Cornell might be for you. The first time I visited the campus I immediately felt at home- and I really do love it here. The opportunities that Cornell offers are endless. But as I said, it is a lot of work. To truly be successful and get the most out of your four years you will need to put in some serious effort. Cornell isn't for the faint of heart, and if you are just looking for the Ivy name on your di...

Cornell: I LOVE CORNELL!
I honestly didn't choose Cornell, it chose me after I got rejected from the other schools at the top of my list. I just applied because my parents are alums, and I wasn't too psyched about going. Once I got to Ithaca, though, I fell in love with it, and now I wouldn't change schools for the world. My biggest piece of advice to students coming here would be to take the first semester easy when it comes to classes - it really helps with the transition from high school, and leaves you ...

Cornell: Oh Cornell
If you come to Cornell please come prepared to work your ass off monday through friday and party thurs-sat night. I personally chose Cornell out of some of the other Ivies like UPenn and Columbia because I am from Philly, which is a considerably large city and I wanted a more scenic location. Cornell is definitely one of the more social Ivies, probably more social than UPenn just not in an urban area. I would say to anyone considering Cornell that if you dislike frosty winters, a lot of hilly wa...

Cornell: Best undergrad Ivy
The first things you need to know are that Cornell is remote, has a big frat scene, that the workload is heavy, but also that you'll be learning from actual Profs and even though there's a lot of people from New York, it's a pretty diverse school if you want it to be. I like the school so I'm going to be really positive.

Cornell: Fun times at Cornell
Cornell is a huge school. It might be hard to adjust to at the beginning, esp. if you are from somewhere outside the East Coast or came from a small school. You don't receive a lot of individual attention in your classes, and it's really up to you to make the best of the academics and social scene that Cornell has to offer.

Cornell: Match made in Heaven
I am thrilled that I chose Cornell, cause looking back, I realize how perfect it was for me. It offered everything that I could want socially and it left me with great academic standings. It isn't a small, intimate school. But every time you walk the paths of the campus you run into people you know. If you're up for living in a college town and have the gusto to find your way through hundreds of options, Cornell may just be perfect for you, too.

Cornell: Prepare to work hard
Electrical and computer engineering, it has a little stigma to it. Typical nerds. For the most part it’s people who thought they would do really well in it. It’s known for having harder requirements for graduation. It’s typical to take more than 4 years to graduate, mainly because of the way the requirements are distributed and trying to figure out exactly what classes to take. It can be done in 4 years you just have to buckle down and take a ton of credits every semester. I’m going to b...

Cornell: Campus is huge
The campus is so big I got really lost the first time I came here. But I loved it, just seeing all the people walking around, it’s a beautiful campus.

Cornell: TAs replace Profs?
Most of my classes are lectures. I have one communications class that is pretty small. It’s mostly about writing. My freshman writing seminar is pretty small but the majority of classes has a significant number of people. In the lecture classes it is hard to get to know professors. There are certain ones who make themselves available to you, but regardless it’s still hard You can email them or go talk after class or during office hours.TA’s are generally more down to earth, occasionally yo...

Cornell: Slackers watch out
My major is in the school of Human Ecology, which is a pretty small school in the whole context of Cornell. Arts and Sciences is definitely our biggest school that we have. We also have ILR, Industrial and Labor Relations. We also have engineering. Because I’m pre-med I think my major is a little harder than usual, but the school that I’m in is not considered a very difficult school. Human Ecology is a lot of working with people and Human Development. I probably study about 24 hours a week.S...

Cornell: Good Times
I choose Cornell because I'm from the south and I really wanted to try something new, and I came to visit and I fell in love with the campus. It just clicked. Huge buildings and lots of big open space. I was so amazed at how on top of things Cornell was, whether it be the food or classes or activities and clubs for everything, so I just felt like I could find my niche here.
