College Overview: Drake

Drake: It's Been A Blast So Far!
Drake was the first school I looked at and knew it was for me right away. The campus is beautiful and the people are incredibly friendly. I knew I wanted to study politics and Des Moines is a great city to be in for that. Regardless of major, any high school student should be aware of the amount of work Drake requires from all undergrads. There are no "easy As" and a lot is expected of you. Only consider Drake if you know how to get your work done and manage time well.

Drake: NO TAs!
I chose Drake mainly because of it's size. I like the small class sizes and the personal attention you receive from professors. A student who should stay away from this school is someone who doesn't plan on attending classes because professors do take attendance. Also a student who likes a lot of school spirit wouldn't like it here because most students do not attend sporting events and we don't have a lot of school spirit.

Drake: Make sure you get your scholarship here!
Make sure you hold out on admissions for a little bit cause almost everyone here gets a scholarship, and if you wait they will be likely to send you more money cause you are a guy. Also, bring your car if possible, it is allowed your freshman year and it is always nice to get off campus when you want to.

Drake: DRAKE UNIVERSITY....BOOOOO
My biggest advice would be to go where you can get the most scholarship money. This is especially important when you go to a private school where tuition is out of this world! Also, you should consider the academics part and whether your school is well-known for anything like its business school or its pharmacy school (like Drake).

Drake: Networking!
I would say that you should look at the programs that Drake has to offer. If you're looking at pharmacy or business, Drake is an excellent choice. We may not have a highly ranked business school, but we have something WAY more important...networking. You can pretend that business isn't about connections, but you're only lying to yourself.
