IU - Indiana University: Everything you want in a school
Indiana is a great school with a very solid academic reputation in every department. The only person who wouldn't be attracted to this school is an engineer - as Indiana has no engineering school. Every program ranks highly. Tuition has been rising rapidly for out-of-state students, it went from 15,000 in 2002 to 25,000 in 2008. Still, there are tons of out-of-staters at Indiana, mainly from Chicago and New York, mainly students with money. If you are looking for the college experience, Indiana ...

IU - Indiana University: Time of your life!
There is something different for everyone. When it comes to college make sure you pick the right school. The reason I chose IU is because of the academic reputation, atmosphere, and best of all the diversity on campus! Indiana may sound like another typical state, however, when you come to Bloomington (Home of IU) you won't realize that you are in Indiana because it is strictly a college town and a melting pot. When I fist visited the campus I fell in love with it because everyone was very f...

IU - Indiana University: This is the Place to Be
I chose it because of the Business school and because I knew it would be different in the Midwest than on the East Coast. And fun! The school exceeded expectations. Obviously this is a huge school so if you're not into that, then this isn't where you wanna be. Although it's big, it never seems crowded and everyone is friendly. If you come to this school with an open mind then you'll love it. You won't find many people transferring unless they have no social abilities or just ...

IU - Indiana University: Midwest is Best! The Truth about Indiana University
If you're a senior considering Indiana University-Bloomington as your school, make sure you know what you're getting into. IU is a HUGE school: 38K + and counting. However, with such a huge enrollment comes awesome opportunities. The contacts and networking and resources seem unlimited, all to your advantage during your four (or five!) years here. I chose IU because the balance of academics and extracurriculars was just unbeatable. The education you receive at IU is comparable to any...

IU - Indiana University: IU Dance Marathon
When I was considering a college, I really only thought about IU. I knew early on that I wanted to go to IU, but since I have been here, I realize that this school has SO much more to offer than just a really beautiful campus! I have got involved with Indiana University Dance Marathon which raises money for Riley Hospital for Children. It is the second largest student run philanthropy in the nation, started only 16 years ago, in memory of Ryan White. This organization has changed my entire l...

IU - Indiana University: Hooray for Hoosiers!
When I was a senior in high school...stratch that, when I was an EIGTH GRADER in middle school, Indiana University Bloomington was the only choice for my college career. I knew the name Bobby Knight before I found out who Christopher Columbus was (not to mention the afamed Kelly Business School shared names with my favorite Saved By The Bell character). Hoosier Hysteria was alive and sacred in my Northern Indiana town. After enrolling into their academic program (entering as a marketing major...

IU - Indiana University: Hot Chicks, Not Druggy
I like the opportunities available at IU. Not just the business school, but also being able to take some psychology classes, be able to be involved in some sports, have a Big Ten team to cheer on when we’re good. When I came to campus it is an absolutely beautiful campus. The arboretum on a sunny day is just gorgeous. The girls lay out there. The girls here are gorgeous as well. The business school of course is just top in the nation, so that’s what initially drew me here. I would de...

IU - Indiana University: Those Crazy Townies
I decided to come to IU because they have a great journalism program. Bloomington’s great because it’s strictly a college town. ..If it weren’t for IU, Bloomington would just be some podunk town in the middle of Indiana. There are good restaurants. There’s a lot of music. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants. It’s a little college town that has a lot to offer. Freshman year, most of your classes are big lecture halls and then you have discussions with teachers assistants. A lot of y...

IU - Indiana University: THE DRUNK BUS
In terms of drinking its something that everyone does. It’s part of daily life for a lot of people. Especially in the Greek system. Our school has a lot of drugs and drinking. After we got ranked number 1 party school, it went from 600 drinking tickets being given out every year to 2000 drinking tickets. A lot of kids are scared to walk home from bars and parties because walking home they will stop you and breathalyzer you. If you get pulled over in a car, they breathalyzer the whole car.

IU - Indiana University: The Full Report
I originally decided to come to Indiana for the journalism school. Indiana definitely has a diverse population, an international population. There are people from the east coast, west coast. The newspaper is student run, so basically it’s like working for a real newspaper. At the Journalism school they really encourage you to do internships and their really helpful with helping you find them.

IU - Indiana University: State of the Union
I picked Indiana for the Big Ten experience. I like going to a big school with a nice campus and good sports and a lot of diversity. Bloomington is an awesome college town. It’s built around the students. Everything caters to the students. There are a lot of fun great things to do. Our Union is huge. It’s awesome. I mean we have a bowling alley in there. We have a pool room, tons of restaurants. It’s a hotel inside the Union. The Union is like the prime spot for everybody to stop in ...

IU - Indiana University: GREAT DEAL!
I already graduated but I’m starting law school this summer here at IU. Bloomington is so exciting and everyone’s going someone and doing something and there’s this exchange of ideas and the culture in this town is amazing. You walk through campus and you’re hearing language after language after language. There are 5 Thai restaurants, 2 Tibetan restaurants, and Ethiopian restaurants, and Mediterranean. I’m actually staying in Bloomington for another 3 years because I love it so much.

I heard that Indiana is a good school for kids out of state. I came to visit one beautiful day in the Fall. This school is known to be a party school, but what people don’t understand is that the academics here are really outstanding.
