College Overview: Ithaca

Ithaca: Liberal Communication!
I came here for the internationally-renowned Communications school, tight-knit socially active environment, and liberal student body. The only big drawback is Ithaca's intense winter, but the spring and summer are so beautiful that they arguably make up for it. You will be welcomed here, regardless of your background, UNLESS that background is politically conservative. Then you will be scorned and shunned.

Ithaca: Ithaca is...well, a lot of things
Any conservative student should stay far away from Ithaca. It's full of hippies. IF you hate liberalism, you're homophobic, or you think men are in any way better than women, you'll get your ass kicked here. By pacifists. Beware. On a more frivolous note, a second warning: if you go outside with wet hair, it'll freeze. Don't do it.

Ithaca: This school rules!
I came all the way from South America to spend four wonderful years at Ithaca. I love the fact that the classes are small and professors actually learn your name and welcome you to come and discuss the subjects with them after class. If you want to meet a lot of people to stay close to for four years, this is the school for you. The professors are kind, engaging and friendly. Freshman year is a blast! Ithaca: Ithaca College
An extreme Republican should stay away from Ithaca College because the students here are liberal and/or tolerant, and discrimination is unacceptable. I chose Ithaca both because of its leftist vibe and because pf its amazing academics: the TVR program and Park School are among the top in the nation.

Ithaca: A Cold, Snowy, Party
I chose IC (as we call Ithaca College) for its Cinema and Photography program, and because the school offered me an amazing financial aid package. The one thing I will say right off that bat is that it's unbelievably cold in Ithaca in the winter...if you've never been to Upstate New York, you have no idea what you're in for...
