LSU: LSU: paradox university
I'm from York, Pennsylvania. I chose LSU because it was cheap; I got a very substantial scholarship, making tuition much cheaper than Penn St. or any of the private schools I was considering.The biggest piece of advice I could offer is to know that LSU has some great qualities, yet is terribly, terribly lacking in some very fundamental ways. I wouldn't recommend going there unless you have a place to stay off campus: I'll explain why in "Social Life/Campus Life"

LSU: Not what you'd expect
I grew up in Southern Louisiana my entire life...a whole 45 minutes away from LSU's campus. My entire family are raging Tiger fans...I couldn't escape it. I just couldn't understand how grown men could care so much about one school. I was dead set on going somewhere else: anywhere else. LSU: Lots to Offer
LSU has lots to offer. Over 350 student clubs and organizations exist on-campus, so you know there are plenty of people for you to meet who share similar interests. The sports at LSU bring people together as we pack 92,000 into Tiger Stadium to cheer on our Tigers as they beat other weaker schools such as Auburn, Ole Miss or Alabama. You have to make sure to put aside enough time to work on your studies, though, or the party will end quickly. LSU is a great college choice though.

LSU: LSU: Friend or Foe?
LSU breaks the mold. As one of the largest academic institutions in the nation, the school caters to a wide range of students. And diversity exists, although it seems intangible at times. The school is definitely worth looking into if your idea of a good time is partying and the occasional Sunday of homework. As big state-schools in the South go, LSU has all the amenities necessary to attract any kind of student, whether he/she is academically oriented or a party buff.

LSU: Tiger Pride!
College means something different to adults than it does to students. To adults, it's a place to get an education and begin your adult life. For kids, it's primarily about having a good time before you enter *THE REAL WORLD*. They're both right. In my college selection process, I wanted a school that would allow me both opportunities - to grow and to be a kid to the fullest of my abilities - in a comfortable, fun setting where I'd make lifelong friends to share my experiences...
