LMU-LA: My Advice
I chose LMU because of the campus and i had always wanted to go to California for school. If you don't have tons of money or don't care a lot about fashion don't go here. It may be right for people who want to party all the time and like to be seen doing the latest hip thing. If that is you then go to LMU.

LMU-LA: I Love LMU
I chose LMU because I wanted to live in a big city, liked the small friendly community atmosphere, B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l campus!!! The location was a big factor. And I liked the fact that there was a business school. If you are considering LMU, in highschool you must have around a 3.5 and 1200 SAT (avg- although they make exceptions based on circumstances ie. first in family to go to college). You should also have volunteered, maybe taken a few AP classes. The school is very big on their mission sta...

LMU-LA: LMU( the knowing)
If LMU interests you, you should definitely apply to go here. Try to strive for AP classes and at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 grading scale. Take the ACT and SAT and try to score at least average on the tests. Have STRONG letters of recommendation. Volunteer works and Joining groups are important. If you do these things, you are SURE to get in.

LMU-LA: Hot People, Hot Campus
When you visit, the campus is going to make you fall in love. This is by far the most beautiful campus you will ever see ANYWHERE. Definitely a huge incentive, but don't let it leave you delusional. Some of the majors are just so-so, and the social life is greek-heavy. Religious influence is big. Lots of service and other programs. Jesuits definitely influence the entire campus, including academics. The size is medium to small. Just enough where you'll see at least one pe...

LMU-LA: Sad Excuse for a College
My advice to anyone considering this school: stay away. Don't allow the beautiful campus or the fact that it is in Los Angeles persuade you to put up with all the disadvantages to going to school here. I chose this school because I was just another Midwesterner who wanted to get out of Ohio. California is a great place, but LMU as an institution is not. If you want to go to school in L.A., then go to USC or UCLA if at all possible.

LMU-LA: Amazing school for Amazing students
I chose LMU because I knew I wanted a private school where class sizes would be smaller and opportunities would be more numerous. Not only did I find what I was looking for - small class sizes, personalized attention, and a fun atmosphere - but the campus is gorgeous! I'm a tour guide at LMU and my favorite part about the tours is being able to show off my university. I love talking about the Sunken Gardens and all the activities there, as well as our awesome gym, our huge basketball team...

LMU-LA: Tucked Away in the Bluff = Treasure!
LMU is one of those schools that is overlooked consistently. It's a hidden gem with so many positive attributes. When I applied to LMU, I didn't hear much about it beyond that it was located somewhere in Los Angeles. Here's the rest of the story. LMU is a campus where there are things to do, academics are better than you would initially think, and people are extremely friendly. That's the one thing that hit me over the head when I showed up: how friendly everyone is! Granted, ...

LMU-LA: The Lowdown on Loyola
UCLA was my first choice, but once I got rejected I decided to to go to LMU. At first I was pretty bummed, but now I can't imagine being anywhere else. Being from Orange County, I would say that LMU fits into the typical "OC" vibe: most girls strut around with their oversized designer purses and bleached hair, which can be annoying. Boys are typically riding around on skateboards with side-tilted trucker hats. In that sense, it is definitely a "cookie-cutter" type school, where everyone is...

LMU-LA: LMU Without the Rose-Colored Glasses
Loyola Marymout University. Let's see. This has been a looooong year. I was originally supposed to go to UCSB, but when I went to check out Loyola, I thought I loved it and changed my decision immediately. Now, reflecting on that decision, my biggest piece of advice is: don't let the beautiful campus here at LMU persuade you to go to school here. If you are a nonconformist in any way, I would definitely not attend LMU. If you don't want to have to act fake to fit in somewhe...

The campus is gorgeous and the city is fun, but if you don't have a car it's probably not for you.
