One of America's worst universities. In "Educational Statistics" edition about 2004, a major reference work like a "book of lists", MSU simultaneously ranked nationally: 1. 5th in worst faculty 2. 2-4th in gun arrests (rankings were 2d, 3d and 4th for the following, but I don't remember which was which) 3. 2-4th in drug arrests 4. 2-4th in alcohol rehab rates per capita

I chose it because its a great school in Michigan, and its not the University of Michigan, where everyone is into that hipster scene or are borderline pretentious assholes...maybe that's just me.

MSU is a diverse campus. When most people think of diversity, they think of skin color. When I say diverse, I mean that MSU is filled with unique and different individuals. MSU - Michigan State: Michigan State - A Great College Experience
Although Michigan State is a very big university, it is very easy to get around. The bus systems are great and its very easy to walk and bike around campus. The campus is beautiful and it offers a wide variety of activities. I don't think there is any student would be unable to find their place at Michigan State.

This is the perfect school for the slightly above average student...frankly I'm here because I didn't get into Michigan (barely) and now im in the 95th percentile without oo much trouble. If you're an elite student and not offered a great scholarship package stay away because you'll find a more challenging environment elsewhere.

MSU - Michigan State: MSU review
Michigan State is a great school. The classes are challenging, but not super hard. If you can get in, you can handle the work load. It is a big party school, and if that is something you enjoy, it is possible that partying could get in the way of your school work.

MSU - Michigan State: Michigan State is Amazing
I chose Michigan State because i wanted to major in Advertising and this school was the only one that really helped me understand their program better by answering all of my e-mails and being very helpful when i called. Also as an out of state student they worked with me to figure out my financial aid and we discussed other ways to pay for my education. I think Michigan State is for everybody. There's different things for everyone.

Pick somewhere you want. Not somewhere all your friends are going or the place your parents want you to go. Find somewhere that is you or you'll never be completely happy. Someone who is not easily adaptable, most likely it will be a big change when you get to school and you have to be able to meet people and not go home in the first weekk.
