State is a great school. It may not be as selective as its elitist sister in Chapel Hill, but is a very tough school to get into. The best advice I can give to any student considering State is just to visit the campus and take a tour. The tour guides can tell you a lot of really neat things about the school that are pretty encouraging. I chose State because it's one of the best engineering schools in the country, offering varied disciplines in the undergrad and graduate arenas. NC State is the biggest university in the great state of North Carolina. If you come to State you will get a little bit of everything. The people here are very diverse and so are the colleges.
