alright odu is not a place for everyone the mojority of the people here either are content with being here or hate it and leave.

ODU - Old Dominion: Do Not Come
Do not bother taking a tour, it may lead to a false impression. The best bet is to go see the social scene for yourself. This school is not what the faculty here would like you to believe.

ODU - Old Dominion: ODU may not be for U
Dont wait until you get accepted and have paid you fees to tour the school.Some people hate to take a tour because they don't wanna fall in love with the school, an not get accepted. Dont be that person, know what you are getting into before you confirm anything. Make sure that the school has everything you want(ex.social life, strong adcademics, etc). All just be sure it the school for you afterall, you're paying for it and it's your life.

If you like diversity and you enjoy the city. Then you should consider ODU. I chose ODU because it is close to the beach, it has a very layed back atmosphere and you can get a quality education. If you don't like living in an urban center or you're very conservative or not open minded, then stay far away from ODU.

Take a tour BEFORE you make you final decision, make sure the school meets your every requirement and hat your'e comfortable where you're at, you may discover that the school you chose isn't for you(trust me I learned the hard way )

When I was applying to ODU, I was basically doing so in lue of NROTC, when I decided not to do the NROTC program, I stuck with ODU as my college choice. Since I've been here, I feel more like a number than a person, the crime has sky-rocketed, the so-called diversity is more a barrier than international community and I feel as though the school itself is more interested in money than providing the best education it could offer. The biggest piece of advice I would give to high school students is to choose wisely. Research the most you can about your intended school. Decide the environment you want to be in, decide the amount of studetns. A student who doesn't want to live in a big city, or near the ocean shouldn't come to ODU.
