Purdue: Great School Bad Location
I decided to go to Purdue because I wanted to go to a Big 10 school and I felt Purdue holds a better reputation then the rest of the schools. Although many would disagree with me; if you came to Purdue you would see. This school has a very interesting history and many fun traditions (grand prix ;). Whenever I mention that I am a purdue student even in foreign countries, many people know of the school and its reputation. Also this school is a very fun school for any type of person. The only ...

Purdue: BOILER UP!
The biggest piece of advice I would give a high school student considering Purdue University would be to definitely take part in a "day on campus" type of activity prior to enrolling. You can not fully appreciate all that Purdue has to offer (i.e. the surrounding local hotspots, parties and people) if you don't experience them firsthand. Purdue's newspaper, The Exponent, is an independent newspaper...I think like the biggest in the nation...and they provide a virtual tour through their...

Purdue: Best in the Big 10, Baby!
As far as choosing a school, all it took for me was one visit to Purdue's campus. Purdue boasts a very welcoming atmosphere and has definitely become my home away from home. To make the best of your time at Purdue, I advise you to get really involved on campus. If you're the type of person that likes to waste away in your room, Purdue is not the school for you (the only time Purdue students stay in like that is early mornings after a big night of drinking when they're too hung-ove...

Purdue: Cold Campus of Calculus
I came to Purdue University to pursue a Navy ROTC scholarship. It is a white, conservative, primarily Christian school. If you aren't in that demographic, and don't like football, Purdue isn't for you.

Purdue: Northern Lights
If you're thinking about coming to Purdue, first, you have to consider the weather. Sure, they'll show you the campus in the fall or in the Spring when it's blazing hot here but you won't see it in the winter unless you come up on your own until your first winter here. To prepare you should probably take a trip to the Arctic Circle. There, at least you have the Northern lights. In fact, while viewing the lights, feel free to wander in the night through the freezing wind. This is ...

Purdue: You're Not in High School Anymore...
Purdue has some incredible teachers, mainly focused in the Agriculuture and engineering departments; however there are some others that are scattered throughout the rest of the college. If you never learned to study or had to study in high school, I'd advise learning some basics as soon as possible, I never had to put forth effort in high school and ended up getting abused by my classes the first year here. While there are majors that allow you to party excessively (haha), you need to real...

Purdue: Go Boilers!
I transferred to Purdue from another university for a lot of reasons, but mainly so I could be closer to my family. I also wanted a big state school atmosphere. Purdue is the kind of school where everyone can find a place to fit in, because there are tons of people, and lots of clubs and activities to join.

Purdue: Best decision of my life
I loved every bit of my experience at Purdue. I graduated a year ago with a degree in Management and a minor in marketing. One of the great things about this school is that it's NOT just an engineering school. Yes, The Schools of Engineering are ranked among the best in the world, but what a lot forget to consider is how the rest of the school stacks up. Krannert (Purdue's business school) Ranks in the top 25 for Grad and top 15 for bachelors. Our aviation degree is (as far as I'...

Purdue: Purdue 101
The best advice I can give is visit all the schools you are considering. You get a completely different feel when reading about a school than when you are actually on campus. Try going during the school year because then you can also see how things flow and work. If you know some one at the school even better. Spend a day with them going to class and getting a more personal tour of campus. When I went and looked at schools the second on was on Purdue's campus I knew I wanted to go there. As ...

I came to Purdue because it had three things I really wanted and one was engineering – two was I’m on the ice hockey team and three, the university band program is phenomenal.

Purdue: Work Hard, Play Hard
West Lafayette itself is not that great but, Lafayette, the town is not too far away and it’s pretty good. I mean, there are things to do but it’s not one of the best college towns that you’ll find.

Purdue: A Room of Her Own
I live in Vodder hall, which is a part of the Windsor complex. It is still the only all female dorm, which I really like, actually. You don’t have to worry about guys just randomly wondering around which is really nice. We do have really strict escort policies though – the gentleman are not allowed anywhere without a female escort. If they have to come down to the bathroom, there has to be a female right there with them the entire time.

Purdue: Golden Diploma
It’s a college town. West Lafayette is really what you make of it – you can sit your dorm room on the weekend and it can be a dull place or you can go out with your friends, have fun on the weekends and party and stuff like that and it’s a great place to be.

Purdue: Diverse and Friendly
There’s a lot of diversity within, at least in my classes, being in the science department we have a lot of International Students especially a lot of Asian students. Our professors, you know it’s kind of half and half, whether they’re American or International Professors. So I guess in my situation it’s mostly just foreign students. Basically Purdue is a really big school so we have tons of student organizations and activities – anything from ballroom dancing competition team, which is what I’m...
