UA Tuscaloosa: Don't Believe Everything You Hear!
Overall, UA is a great school! It can be a little hard to meet people and make friends at first because some of the classes are so large, but the best thing to do is just talk to people. College is all about learning, having fun and trying new things. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there!

UA Tuscaloosa: Rachel's Review
GO TO CLASS! Many students think that if the prof doesn't take roll, they're home free. They get to the end of the semester and realize they have no notes to study with! GO TO CLASS...or at least borrow someone's notes :)

UA Tuscaloosa: Typical liberal arts school...
University of Alabama is a liberal arts school first and foremost. If you are not interested in the liberal arts, look else where. engineers, scientists, future doctors of america, there are better places to go.

UA Tuscaloosa: It's okay...
Well I didn't choose Alabama I transferred after the Hurricane from a school In Louisiana. I would tell you to come visit for a weekend and stay with someone who alreaedy goes here. Alabama is a VERY conservative school and if you are a liberal it isn't the place for you. Everyone has tons of money and if you're not very wealthy it's hard to keep up. You must join a sorority or a fraternity or you are at the bottom here. If you like being judgemental, than this is the place ...

UA Tuscaloosa: UA is too large!
UA may have been a great school in the past, but now it has outgrown its potential. The school is increasing the class size every year without expanding facilities to match the pace. Classes are overcrowded and departments are understaffed. The traffic congestion is horrid - two lane roads were never meant to service a school over 15,000 much less the projected 28,000 they hope to have soon. Buildings are falling apart! When there are as many students as there are at UA, each student ...

UA Tuscaloosa: Why not to come to UA?
If you're from an upper-class conservative republican family and have parents in the Greek system, you'll fit right in. Money talks. I mean, hey, it is a university. If you're not part of that description, then there's not a lot that Alabama can offer you.

UA Tuscaloosa: Why I love 'Bama
I love my alma mater, the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I orginally applied there as a safety school, but went to visit and fell in love. It was geographically close to my home (Memphis, TN) but just far enough away from my roots. As many SEC schools do, Alabama has a large party reputation, which it lives up to, but the academics are second to none. The communications school is top 10 in the nation and allowed me to get my degree in public relations in May of 2004. Anyone who...
