UCSB: UCSB-Best decision ever made...
I went to UCSB for a basketball tournament one summer and fell in love with it. I didn't realize how much fun it would be until I actually arrived. The environment is great for both strictly academic minded people and those who want to have some fun while getting their academics done. The only people that might want to stay away is someone who has trouble saying know and setting priorities for themselves. One can get caught up in the party scene and lose out on the great academics UCSB has.

Don't get too caught up in the party scene, remember to do your homework. I chose it because of the location...the beach.

UCSB: Great Academics and Social Scene
When I visited UCSB during Spring Insight, I fell in love with the campus immediately. The students were approachable and nice. The campus surroundings were beautiful. Who could ask for a better location? Beach on one side and mountains on the other. For any high school student considering UCSB, I'd tell them it's a great experience, as long as you know how to balance work and play. Study hard and reward yourself by playing hard. Anyone who easily succumbs to peer pressure should probabl...

UCSB: Minutes from the Beach
It’s the only campus you can go and have a beach right there. Like, how many schools can you say you can walk 5 minutes and hit the ocean. So it’s perfect.

UCSB: It's a Blast!
It’s a blast, I mean, I’m in Manzanita, which is a little more closed off that the other 4 or 5 dorms there are – just because the actual, like architecture of the building is different – you don’t meet as many people but because there are a lot of athletes, you get to know a lot of people who are more like you. And it’s just really nice and new, which is cool. The noise has never been a problem like you just have people around you, like if you want to hang out with some one there’s always someo...

UCSB: The Minor in Possession
The volleyball program here is really good. Both the girls and guys teams are awesome. The guys team right now, were 3rd in MPSF, which is the top league, “Mountain Pacific Sports Federation” and were 3rd, were behind UCLA and Pepperdine right now and so were hopefully gonna do pretty good, coming into the tournament. We have a pretty good squad – good coaching. They red shirt a lot here – all the sports actually. For volleyball especially the coach likes to red shirt the freshman which, it ...

UCSB: Bad-Smelling Lagoon and No Need to be Greek
I would say that this is one of the schools where you don’t need to be in the Greek system to have a party scene or a social life or whatever. DP is a huge party scene every Friday/Saturday night you go down there – a big downtown scene for 21 year olds – the thing I like about being in a sorority and that whole thing is that there are organized events and it doesn’t get like you have to walk down and go to house parties all the time – we themes and stuff, it’s more fun that way, I think. D...

UCSB: UC Paradise
It is a paradise, maybe not necessarily the school, but like the ocean and everything that’s around it. I think Golita and I.V., it gets a little dirty once in a while, cause there’s so many students and gets so compacted, but it’s a good time, and then, if you go to Santa Barbara, there’s so many pretty places around here, it’s definitely, like a paradise.
