U of H is the type of school you go to if you DON'T want the college experience. Most of the people don't have school pride. Most of the students go to class and go home. University of Houston: Some advice...
Choose your class times carefully. Carpool if you live off campus, shop at local grocery stores if you live on campus. Get involved in on campus activites, sports, fraternities, whatever, otherwise your college experience will suck. I chose UH because of its reputation for excellence, proximity, and the cost. Someone who is xenophobic or racist shouldn't consider UH because the student body is very diverse. Female students shouldn't go out alone at night on campus because the neighborhoo...

University of Houston: The Real UH
The biggest advice I would give a high school student is do not fool yourself into thinking that UH is a bad school. It is one of the greatest (academically), so do not put it at the bottom of your list if you are a high achiever. I choose it because I wanted to be near home. If you plan to go to school to party, you should stay away. If you are biased towards a certain group of people, then stay away. If you plan to miss a lot of school, stay away.

University of Houston: Look Again
If you are looking for prestige and high, high, very high tuition, don't come here. We don't walk with our noses in the air, because if we did we wouldn't see all the opportunities that a UH student can get.
