University of Kansas: KU...KO'ed
I was born in raised in Kansas City, Kansas. Before choosing KU I visited Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, K-state, and Washington University in STL. I honestly dont know what to say about their academics. Par? Sub-par? They arent spectacular and you will not be treated like a "wanted" student. The campus is very conservative and there is a large number of pot-heads and otherwise unmotivated students.

University of Kansas: Corporate and Clumsy
KU is a very large and corporate institution. As an incoming freshman, it is easy to get lost, overwhelmed and drowned-out by its large scale impersonality and institutionalized approach to education. If you are wanting a college that focuses on your academic needs as a fledgling scholar, KU is not for you. If you, however, you desire a 4 year degree from a prodigiously mediocre institution that cares not whether you pass or fail or just get by, then KU can fulfill your wildest dreams.

University of Kansas: If you come here for Journalism, you should be slapped
Well first off, I didn't come here for Journalism, becaus KU's journalism is laughable (watch the videos on this very website, they are sad).

University of Kansas: KU is not for you!
I have lived in Lawrence my entire life. I chose KU because of that reason. BIG MISTAKE! KU's professors are a joke. The sports teams suck. There aren't any good clubs for a good student *if you can find one*

University of Kansas: KU isn't that great....
I chose KU because they offered my a full-ride scholarship and It's the closest school to my home state I thought I liked. If you are an INTELLEGENT or focused student, KU is NOT for you.

University of Kansas: Best for Your Money
The biggest factors in choosing KU have been the environment on campus and how affordable it is. My other college choice I had been struggling with (UC Davis) had tuition 4 x times the amount of KU tuition. Being a student paying for college solely on my own, it was very important to me that I wouldn't end up with student loan debt up to my eyeballs for the rest of my life.

University of Kansas: So you wanna be a Jayhawk?
Choosing a college is one of the toughest decisions you will have to make, besides your major and what you want to do for the rest of your life! But the college does make a difference. You want to make sure it's the right fit for YOU (not your mom, dad, boyfriend/girlfriend, or best friend). Make sure you apply and take a full day to visit the campus to get a feel of what it would be like to spend the next 4, 5, or 6 years here. I chose KU because from the first campus tour I got, I just...

University of Kansas: The good and the bad from a transfer student
My biggest advice in considering this school is find a graduate from your school who went here and ask their view. I don't know what kind of place you are coming from, so it's best to get an opinion from someone that was in the same situation as you are now. I chose KU because I am majoring in Political Science and the program here is rated among the top in the country (the only major competitor is Harvard; the only one that ever beats KU is them) and also because the campus is beauti...

University of Kansas: Kansas Kicks Ass
Definitely come ahead of time and hang around Lawrence some, because the town and the college compliment and reflect each other nicely. I came to KU because I loved the atmosphere surrounding campus and the entire town itself; it's a fun-loving, relaxed, well balanced place to live, work, and go to school.

University of Kansas: Good luck finding a parking spot
KU is a great school for just about everyone... if you are not a big fan of being in shape I would probably look at a school that isn't built on a hill. You will be walking up hill both ways... or I guess you can just buy a bus pass. But if you plan on driving, good luck finding a parking spot.

University of Kansas: KU SUCKS
I chose KU basically because of the basketball team and to be far away from home. Let's just say that wasn't the best idea. You should stay away from KU if you enjoy staying active in events that are not related to school. The best fit student for KU would have to be lazy unless it comes to partying. Most likely being an alcoholic would make KU attractive. The anti-KU student would probably be someone who likes extracurricular activities and focusing on getting a good education.

University of Kansas: The Ups and Downs of living on the Hill...
The University of Kansas is your basic university. With over 25,000 students there is something for everyone to get involved in and plenty of major choices. The location kind of sucks considering it is in Kansas, but the campus is beautiful and Kansas City is only 30 minutes away. Lawrence is an awesome town known for its music scene and the fabulous bars! Sporting events are a major thing here and most students will attend football and basketball games, even if they don't give a crap about ...

University of Kansas: Rock Chalk
If you're from Kansas City, and you need to get away, do it. But then come back. Kansas is a blast- tradition rich, beautiful campus. It can't be beat.
