Ole Miss is first and foremost a Greek school. Let there be no doubt about it that your first 2 years will absolutely suck if you are not greek. Ole Miss is a social scene. While the university and surrounding town (Oxford, Miss.) may have a lot to offer the more introvertedly inclined (Rowan Oak, Willie Faulkner, huge literary scene, awesome med school, prestigious law school, etc.), overall Ole Miss is a party school. The best part of Ole Miss, is even though we may sound like we are drowning in beer, the students always appear to be southern gentlemen and debutantes. I chose Ole Miss because it has the only pharmacy school in the state. Stay away from the pharmacy school if you don't want to do lots and lots of studying, and if you do not work well with others.

Ole Miss: What They Don't Tell You About Going Greek
The biggest piece of advice I'd give a high school student is: keep your mind on your money...and your parents. Just think about why you're going to school. First of all, I should mention that I entered Ole Miss as a junior. My first two years were spent at Mississippi State...the "rival" school. Coming from that school, I found it very easy to slip into life at Ole Miss. I found everyone to be very welcoming.
