UNCA - UNC Asheville: Different, in a good way
Overall, it's a great experience. Faculty and staff are really helpful and care to make you feel respected and relaxed; this is not the case in many other schools! While everyone is devoted to their jobs as fac/staff or education as students, the atmosphere is still pretty laid back and super friendly. One of the major pluses is that it's very safe! Obviously, Asheville is entirely safe, so UNCA is no different. It's just nice to feel safe enough to walk alone without looking over your shoulder ...

If you're conservative in the least bit, this is not the place for you. Known as a "hippie" town, you've got to be open and accepting of all types of people. I love it here, everyone is incredibly artsy, and it's a very chill environment.
