Pitt: Pitt in a Nut Shell
I think that a student would enjoy the sheer volume of academic opportunities that Pitt offers. From high-ranking science programs to award-winning philosophy departments, Pitt pretty much has it covered in the academic realm. As far as the social scene goes, Pitt is a division one school, and it's hard to find more hardcore sports fans (we are the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, after all!). The best advice I can give to perspective students is to have a clear picture of exactly what th...

Pitt: Pitt = Discounts, Freebies & A Great School
I chose Pitt because it was as far away from home as I could convince my parents to let me go. If you aren't a fan of large classes, rowdy people (Especially after sports games), or city life, Pitt isn't for you.

Pitt: Pitt is the SH*T
Do you like a being in big city where there are never-ending things to do? Do you like being part of a large community of fans in love with sports? Do you want a school that is active in good sports? Do you want a school that offers 8 different schools of interest? Do you want a school that you will love, never think about transferring, and can always have a good time? If you said yes to any of these, Pitt is your choice. I chose Pitt to get away from a place that was into conformity and went to...

Pitt: Pitt an awesome school that is often overlooked!
The main reason that I chose pitt was the fact that it is in the city. Pitt has one of the best urban campuses that i have ever seen. Many people here advocate that the city is our campus, and that is the truth. Not only does Pitt excel in sports, but the academic programs are also outstanding. Pitt is also a great research facility that give students a hands on learning experience.

It's in the city, lots to do. It's big but not too big... you still see tons of people that you know around, but you will meet lots and lots of people.

Pitt: University of Pittsburgh
Make sure that you're ready for a city school if you're thinking about Pitt. We're right in the middle of it all, and we're a huge school, so if those conditions aren't what you want you'll probably be a bit uncomfortable with Pitt. But from someone who wasn't really excited about Pitt upon first coming here, I love it now. Pittsburgh's a great city with really awesome, eclectic neighborhoods, and it's a lot cheaper to live in than many other major cities. ...

Pitt: i hail to pitt
Pitt's big enough that you can meet a new person everyday. However, if you join a group, club, or organization, you end up having friends in almost every class, which makes it feel smaller. Pitt has so many groups, theres one for everything!

Pitt: Rural Girl goes Urban
The biggest mistake high school seniors make when choosing a school is they go for the big name on the cover instead of the substance behind it. Pitt, and may schools similar, offer the same education as the big name schools, at a much more affordable price. Seniors should also keep in mind that although distance can be a hurdle, there is very little difference between three hours and seven, you will most likely still go home the same number of times throughout the semster. I chose Pitt becau...

Pitt: University of Pittsburgh-Main Campus
It is cold here most of the time, but Pittsuburgh is a great place to live. I chose Pitt because it is in a city that has a lot of culture as well as major sports teams. I also chose it because when I toured the campus I had that feeling that I could see myself here for four years (at least). It may take you more than four years to graduate, but that's true with any school these days. Also there is are great alumni connections to take advatage of and this is quite a well known school, in the...

Pitt: Pitt is it
Be ready for a noisy fast-paced environment. Don't stand too close to the bus lane. Try to take classes with professors you hear good things about. Use the Writing Center for help with papers even if you're a good writer. Get involved on campus!

To make sure that you like big cities, and do not mind going to a campus where to many individuals you are just a number. But also that by getting involved in the many clubs and activities you are able to be known around campus

Pitt: University of Pittsburgh ... the best this that has happened to me
When applying to college, make sure the institution you wish to apply to has you major. I know alot of freshman that came to PITT and then realised that their major wasnt available. Before attending the universtiy of your choice or even applying be sure to visit the campus and talk to students about what they like or dislike about the university.
