UW-Madison: Madtown is the best value around
Like everyone says, Madison is a great mix of academic and extracurricular activities. You need to be someone who can balance work and play. I graduated in '95 and have been extremely satisfied with the preparation the school gave me for my life. That said, if you are someone who needs a lot of hand-holding and direction from others, this school may not be for you. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is honestly the best place ever. I am from New Jersey and I would choose Wisconsin over any other school by far. Watch this video on TheU and you cannot think otherwise. I live on the water, go to the #1 party school, and love life. What else could you ask for?

UW-Madison: This school is the shit
This is a big school. Most kids are coming from public high schools and are used to being lost in a crowd. Academically, to be noticed, one must overachieve because these kids are smart and there is a lot of competition, and having to compete against so many kids doesn't make it any easier. In terms of the social life, it is fun to have such a big community. It is easier for anyone to find their niche. There is a circle of friends for every type of person.

Madison is full of oppurtunities - whatever you want, you can get it here. Want to get drunk every night? fine. Want to study everynight? fine. mostly, people do alot of both. The most challenging part of Madison is finding a good balance between the two, but there are alot of different kinds of people doing different kinds of things and it will be easy to find a good group of people with simular interests as you, despite the size of the university. From what I experience most people are form the mid-west. UW-Madison: eeeenormous
I don’t think there’s a lot of diversity here but art the same time cause its 92 percent white, however there’s more diversity than you think it would like in some of your classes, you’d be surprised. It doesn’t actually seem that much but statistics tell otherwise.

UW-Madison: Work and Play
Everyone has mopeds – even just in the four years there have been so many more like and so much bigger and they can go really fast its just convenience issue especially if you’re in a major where you live very far from where you classes are.
