UW-Milwaukee - UWM: Make it Your Best
I chose UWM mostly because of the city itself. Milwaukee is a great place and UWM is located in an even greater neighborhood. I guess my main piece of advice for incoming Freshmen would be to take Freshman seminar classes. They are small classes that make the transition from high school to college much easier. The kind of student that should stay away from UWM, mostly the dorms, is someone who wants to get some serious studying done. While there are some 'dorm dwellers' that take their stud...

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: Transfer Student Speaks!
Stay away from Art Schools and go to UWM instead. I personally transferred here from Columbia College Chicago, which is full of wannabe art students and suffers from a lack of kids with their heads screwed on straight. UWM is a great school with a very good reputation all around, including in the Art departments.

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: UWM is what you make of it
I chose UWM out of necessity, I was a few points shy of transferring to Madison as a sophomore. UWM is fairly diverse, people tend to be on the liberal side, which could be a problem only for the most sheltered of high school students. I would say stay away from UWM if you want personal attention. In my experience with advisors and teachers, people only notice you if you make an effort to be noticed. It's easy to get lost in the sea of people.

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: The birthplace of Miller, among other things....
Deciding on a University is a difficult decision, and I chose UW- Milwaukee not without hesitation, but now I know that I made the right choice. If you want to go into Film, Art, or Architecture, and want to stay in the affordable UW system, then Milwaukee is for you. The programs are some of the best within the system and the artistic environment in Milwaukee fosters growth of the creative mind. A student at UW-M does need to make an effort to meet people, because many incoming freshman have "h...

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: Stuff you should know
This school is part of the University of Wisconsin system. It's credits are pretty much referrable within the system and it is probably the most respected school in general other than Madison. However, the school is very good at making itself look better than it really is. They have the basics of a University. Classes, dorms, extracurricular activities. But unless you want to rip off the consumers (ex: the students, the taxpayers of Wisconsin) by failing to pay attention to detail, by re...

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: Good School, Good price
UW-Milwaukee is a great school to go to for Business, $10,000,000 was just donated to the School of Business Administration. Don't go to college (any college for that matter) with the intention of partying every day of the week and sliding through all your classes like you did in High School. College is hard work, it isn't for everyone, but it is for people who respect the amount of work it takes to maintain their GPA and learn through life experiences than any book can ever give you.

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: Freshman living off campus...
I chose UWM because we have an awesome nursing program and frankly, because I could get in. It's not as big as you would think being in a big town like the Mill, for me it's perfect. I'm not a fan of walking a mile to get to class... or having all of my classes in the same building. If you want a big city school... look elsewhere. While looking at UWM remember where you plan to live. The neighborhoods around are good and bad, make sure you check them out. I hear dorms are good...

UW-Milwaukee - UWM: I like it!
As with any big school, if you are extremly distracted... such as myself, don't live in the dorms. I commute, and plan on living in an apartment so I can isolate myself when needed. The workload is what yo make it. The biggest peice of advice, get english done as fast as possible, along with all your requirments, and make sure you like what you are studying. If you don't, you're going to become frustrated beyond belief and probably give college the bird.
