Vassar - Vassar College: Awesome School
I originally had never even planned to look at Vassar, but at a recruiting camp for lacrosse I met a coach who had just recruited one of my teammates the year before. Afraid that it was too artsy, I never even considered it too much, but after listening to the coach speak, the school clearly was pumping money into the athletic programs and the school doesn't necessarily revolve around the arts. There are so many activities here you can do whatever you please and not feel excluded. Though i wa...

Vassar - Vassar College: Vassar is Weird, and we love it!
You should definitely consider Vassar if you're an open minded person, if you are tolerant, and with relatively liberal views. Conservatives, especially the extreme ones, should stay away. Vassar is a place for self-exploration where you can express yourself without any judgment. It is a liberal arts college which makes it very flexible in terms of academics, etc. Students are free to explore any and all areas of interest without any restrictions or much requirements at all. The flexibility is p...

Vassar - Vassar College: Yay Vassar!
Vassar College tends to cater to a certain type. You may be the smartest kid at your high school, but are you Vassar material? It's hard to say. Vassar's college application offers a tidbit called "My Space," which allows you the freedom to express yourself in the way you deem fit. Like the college application, Vassar is a little different than your run of the mill liberal arts college-the academics are challenging, the professors are accessible, and the resources available to students here ...

Vassar - Vassar College: A Lot to Offer!
Vassar has a lot to offer. It's library is amazing and it's size allows the students to form close relationships with the professors. Also, students are given opportunities that simply wouldn't be possible at a larger institution. Since it's only a college, odds are teaching aids will never teach one of your classes. Students who tend to follow the crowd or who want a lot of guidance shouldn't choose Vassar. There are plenty of resources for help, but you have to seek the...

Vassar - Vassar College: Athletes/Conservatives/Former Abercrombie employees need not apply
I chose Vassar because, let's face it, it is prestigious and has a great academic reputation. The classes and professors ARE amazing, and I'm a political science major so I rarely have a lot work. A lot of reading, 3 papers a semester is usually how it goes. Professors expect class participation, and for the most part are VERY fair graders. It's hard to get an A but harder to get below a B. That said, the social scene, if you're a semi-mainstream, attractive, heterosexual fem...
