Virginia Tech: A huge school
I chose Virginia Tech because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Picking such a huge school is ideal for students in that situation because it allows you to explore major fields and career options. Also, Virginia Tech has the name recognition that will become important to all students when they want to enter the job market. People immediately know what you're talking about when you say Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech: It's a Hokie Thing
When I walked onto the Virginia Tech campus, I knew that it was where I had to go. During my tour, a student with boxers on his head ran up to the Pylons and screamed at the top of his lungs, "BRING US YOUR DAUGHTERS!" Virginia Tech: Your New Home!
The biggest piece of advice i can give to a high school student considering Virginia Tech is to actually come and visit the campus. You will know as soon as you step foot on to this beautiful campus that you will want to attend VT. I would suggest the campus tours because they can show you around the academic side of life here, but I would also suggest visiting during a weekend with a few of your friends and getting the actual feel for the campus life in all forms. Virginia Tech: The Turkey Mascot and the Hokie Stone
Every single building here is called Hokie Stone, which VA. Tech basically has the rights to this certain quarry. I think the stone actually takes 300 million years to age and they won’t let anyone else use it and it’s on almost every building here. Virginia Tech: A friendly environment
When I first got here my overall impression was just the beautiful scenery. Blacksburg is considered the biggest town in VA. , but it is known for its friendly environment. We have a little downtown Blacksburg area where we actually have a place called Kent Square. There are actually new organizations and companies that work there. Virginia Tech: Southern Hospitality
My first impression was just how big the school was. And I think that’s bit of an adjustment for some people. For some students it’s really intimidating. I really wasn’t expecting a campus this big.
