WMU - Western Michigan: What I think of WMU-Kalamazoo, MI
I chose Western Michigan University for the location. Situated in the middle of Chicago and Detroit, it's only a short drive to the Grand Rapids and is very accessible to big cities with a lot to do. Western's campus is small enough to get around, but big enough so that it's not high school. WMU has a great party atmosphere, which is a big part of the student life. The requirements to get in are also not as high as other universities.

WMU - Western Michigan: Great School
I love the atmosphere here; it's very friendly and upbeat. Everyone you meet is very nice and Kalamazoo is a great city. That's why I chose this school.

WMU - Western Michigan: Ups and Downs of Western
When looking into colleges, everyone says it is a good idea to visit. On your first visit to Western, it may seem huge, and not for you. However, the campus is actually pretty compact and small, and has many of its buildings within a short walking distance of each other. Western is a good place for students who love to work in groups and get a lot of hands on experience. Students who don't take their education seriously need not apply to Western.

WMU - Western Michigan: WMU..Eh, it's ok
Pick WMU, if you want to be able to have a car as a freshman and not be required to live in a dorm. Basically that is a huge draw for WMU. The Health and Human Service College, Engineering and Business Colleges are also a plus. It's not very studious of a univeristy; the library is hardly ever open. I chose WMU because I'm from the area and it was a last minute decision to go here, and sometimes I wish I went somewhere else to be honest.

When you come to WMU you will have a lot of distractions. Do not attempt to study in your dorm room. Learn where Waldo Library is and use it. WMU has great technological offerings both for academics and for personal use. Enjoy your time here. Western Michigan University is a great place. You will learn as long as you put forth the effort. Work hard and have fun at the same time... meaning: learn time management and YOU WILL SUCCEED!
