What it is like

Rating: 2/5 (5 ratings)
Introduction
You will get a lot of individualized attention. It is small. Your graduating class is probably bigger than Albion's graduating class. It is like high school in that if you go to a frat and do something totally wild, people will know. No one really cares, but they will know. Oh, and it is ghetto here. Campus saftey will send out an e-mail every week telling of a townie getting shanked on campus. No joke.

Campus Life and Social Life
Since there is nothing else to do, people drink a lot. If you do not drink you can still have fun and get involved, but the social scene is completely dominated by drinking. Wednesday-saturday nights are designated for drinking. The parties are all themed, so it is fun to dress up and go out, but it is the same party week after week for 4 years.

Academics
Chem/science is hard. People are pretty smart here, but not crazy smart. Pretty much no such thing as TA's here. All professors that know your name and probably what you did last saturday night.

Student Body
Weekends are boring until about 8 PM, when people start drinking. Sports are lame as hell here. High school sports are much more intense in terms of fans and cheering. Soccer draws a bgger crowd than football. There is basically no town or shops, sorry. Some people study a lot, some people never study and do really well in their classes. It is what you make it. If you like studying the bible and going to bed by 9 PM, you can. If you like doing lines of coke off of a stripper's boobs, you probably could. It is small, but you will find your niche. And people who know what that means and wrote a 7 page paper on it.

In Closing...
It is small, but for some people it is a great fit. A huge percentage of people play sports. You will get to know the college president on a first name basis within your first year. If you are looking for the major college experience, go to U of M on the weekends and if you want a great individualized education, go to Albion.
