American University is for you

Introduction
American University is an incredible school. It's located in a great, safe area of Washington, DC. You will never complain about not having anything to do. The campus has a decent amount of green space -- much more than GW and Georgetown. Overall, the faculty are amazing.

Campus Life and Social Life
No football team, but you know about this now so if you go to AU don't waste your time complaining about it. There are literally hundreds of opportunities to get involved -- various clubs, sports, etc. Students at AU are activists and they get involved. Advertisement
Academics
The School of Communication is great. The School of Public Affairs and the School of International Service are ranked the best. Academics -- it's challenging, but doable.

Student Body
The typical student comes from an upper middle class or upper class family. They are yuppy, spend lots of money, and drive around in expensive cars.

Overall AU is quite diverse and it's easy to find your niche.
