IntroductionIf you are from the north, DON'T go here. Im from outside of Boston and I wanted to do something different and go down south. I wanted to join a frat and have big time college football, Auburn has all of this. But this is the deep south and people are very hardcore here. Stay away if you are liberal, hate football, don't like greeks, dont have a truck, or like to wear dresses and pearls. And I repeat If you are from the North, stay away.
Campus Life and Social LifePretty much you have to go greek. Football season is the best time on campus. People get really excited and the team is always amazing. Frats have band parties every weekend, which are alright at best. If you come here you have to join a frat, the town is too small and there is nothing to do. Lots of beer here and a lot of cover bands. Tons of clubs to join if you're into that stuff. Dorms are terrible and the food is worse. Everyone lives off campus in apartments or houses. So if you want dorm life, stay away. The food is awful, no good choices on campus but the biggest joke is the parking and the amount of construction that makes a very pretty campus suck a lot. Everyone has cars so if you don't it sucks.

AcademicsVery easy. No one goes to class and the only hard teachers are the ones who are not from the south and move here to teach. The engineering department is really good and so is the architecture. Professors are decent but nothing special and the TA's are nice but again, nothing special.
Student BodyVERY southern and almost all from Alabama (others are from georgia, big difference....NOT). A lot of kids go home on the weekends if there is no football so that is bad. There are a lot of hicks who drive ridiculous trucks and almost all the girls wear dresses. The girls are top 5 best looking in the country guaranteed. But they are all very prude and want to have a boyfriend and get married. This place is so conservative and racist it makes me sick. If you are African American or gay, run away now. Everyone is the same here. Football and Jesus are the two biggest things here. People are very religious and all go to church and pray a lot. A lot of greek life is based on religion too. Football here is like nothing else in the country. Tradition is so rich and people are very loyal.
In Closing...Parking, dorms, and food suck. RELIGION is huge, Football is king. No diversity at all. Campus gets boring a lot because other than football nothng fun is based upon campus. There is one good bar downtown that's fun. Police are a joke and underage drinking is easy. If you join a frat, pledging is a nightmare. But library is second only to Harvard's. The school is very big.
