Introduction
My biggest piece of advice is to get involved in something. We are in the middle of nowhere and you will find it very difficult to have fun on your own. As for choosing schools, not gonna lie, the only reason i applied here is because my entire family is Alabama crazy. If you're not a partier or if you are really looking for a challenging academic life, this is not the school for you.

Campus Life and Social Life
The best part of the social scence here at AU is that parties/activites are endless. There is always somehting to do during the week, and on the weekend there are a million parties. Fall is definitely a better time than the spring because of football. AU is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so if you're not a big partier there isn't much for you to do after the season. The worst part is that cops are everywhere! If you live on campus there are strict rules that are actually enforced (visiting hours, opposite sex visitation, no alcohol). If you live on campus there are of course no rules, but don't make your neighbor mad, because the police will show up.

Academics
Academics here are a joke. I attended a community college before I came to Auburn and, not kidding, it was so much harder. My first semester GPA at AU was a full point higher than at community college. Most of the departments are equal. I'm in education and so far they have treated me well. I have heard that the College of Science and Mathematics is fairly difficult. As far as professors go, I suppose it's just like any other school. Some suck and others are great. Most core classes are pretty big, except for English, so you have to get used to having around 200 people in one room. TAs are in almost every class and they are much more helpful than the professors themselves, some professors just let the TAs do everything. Overall it's not hard at all, but some specific departments are a little bit more difficult than others.

Student Body
I would describe our student body as a really big and extremely preppy. There are always exceptions but for the most part girls are in sororites and guys are in fraternities and if you're not in one it is a little bit more difficult to meet people. If you think you're going to get away from the drama of a previous school, think again! People are still immature, they still talk about you behind your back, and maybe it's a little bit more extreme than high school.

In Closing...
I came here expecting a good time as well as a difficult academic life. I was right and wrong. I'm having the time of my life, but classes are ridiculously easy. We do have an honors college for those who want to be more challenged but I would not recommend it. Socially I would say become Greek, and if you really don't want to you must get involved in as many organizations as possible in order to have a fullfilling social life.
