I heart Babson College
Rating: 1.2/5 (78 ratings)
IntroductionAs a freshman, I have spent the past semester and a half enjoying a rigorous academic environment, an active athletic career and an awesome social life. I applied to Babson because of its reputation as a top-ranked school for entrepreneurship and business, and have been thrilled to find the other elements of college life falling into place.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe social/campus life at Babson varies and is really what you make of it. There's always a plethora of events hosted by the CAB (campus activities board), steering committee events, bingo nights, movie nights, and all of the random (but extremely fun) stuff that goes around campus. That said, if you forego these activities, you might find yourself high and dry for opportunities to get crazy. "Parties" in the traditional college sense can be hard to find at times since academics is everyone's top priority here. But assuming that it's yours too if you're applying here, I think you'll find our strong sense of community more than makes up for the lack of hardcore parties.

AcademicsWell obviously, Babson has a reputation for entrepreneurship and business. We've been ranked 1st in entrepreneurship for 9 or 10 years in a row, and i don't think that's going to stop anytime soon. The curriculum is so innovative and challenging that it's no wonder Babson has the sparkling reputation it does of producing great businessmen and women. The liberal arts department classes are interesting and challenging too, but pretty much every student has business on their mind!
Student BodyThe typical student is atypical. Twenty percent of students are international: I have hallmates from Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Korea, Kenya, India, and Turkey, among other countries. It's amazing to hear all the different languages spoken on campus and to observe the distinct cultural blend, which is both exciting in itself and great preparation for success in a global business economy. In terms of socio-economic status, let's be honest - the typical student (or rather, his/her parents) is crapping money. Most students wear designer threads and drive one (sometimes two) benzes, audis, saabs, lexuses (lexii?), and even bentleys. Hey, good preparation for entering a Fortune 500 Company parking lot later in life!
In Closing...Just a summary: apply to Babson College if (and only if) you're smart and business-minded, seek a truly unique student body, and want an education that is simply unmatched.
