Bard is a nice place

Rating: 5/5 (99 ratings)
Introduction
I chose Bard because of the diversity of classes offered. I loved the atmosphere when I got here. It is very laid back, but everyone works very hard. It is fun, and I feel like I'm being challenged.
I think any kind of student can do well here, except people who think they have their lives already figured out and people who think they would enjoy frat parties.

Campus Life and Social Life
Best part of social life is the company; you can go anywhere and you will know someone. The best part of life here is the music and concerts.

Academics
I know that the English department is great, and the history department has great teachers. There are some very cool electronic music people here too. There are no TAs, only very dedicated and intelligent professors. The workload is just enough to keep you thinking.

Student Body
There are no typical students here. There are many soon-to-be-yuppies and way too many rich kids from Massachusetts. Otherwise, everybody's great.
Students here are into having a good time, being informed and active, and doing their school work. Nobody here is "into" one particular thing.

In Closing...
Bard is great. There aren't many reasons why you'd hate it here. If you're bigoted or snobby, don't come here. If you're only coming here because your friends are here and you think it's cool, you'll have a great time and you might even learn something. I could go on and on. The teachers here are amazing. Amazing. Also it's beautiful here. And on this survey I'm filling out right now, they ask "How hot are the guys?/How hot are the girls?" If you care about this answer, don't come to Bard.
