Boston University: Highly Recommended
Rating: 1.1/5 (79 ratings)
IntroductionBU is split into different schools which vary in difficulty depending on your major. If you're gonna come here to mess around and not do work, don't pick a hard school! Some people definitely get away with going out every night and doing no work. Boston is the best city to go to school in, everything you possibly need is here and there is so much to do.
Campus Life and Social LifeThe campus social life is pretty dead with guarded dorms and RAs who are out to catch you drinking. Living off campus is the way to go as soon as you can if you wanna party (and not be on probation and kicked out of housing). Boston is full of bars and clubs (althought the good ones are 21 plus and they are getting much stricter with fake IDs). The sports are good if you like the Red Sox... and the terrier hockey team is the best ever! (no football if that's what you crave).
AcademicsAcademics depend on where you are. Different colleges like engineering, the business school, and the rehabilitation school are not for you if you want to party every night. The professors must have office hours to meet with you, and will make other arrangements if you can't make them. They also are really good about answering emails. TF's (not assistants.. fellows) are mainly foreign.. but if you're lucky enough to have an english one or at least one you can understand they are pretty good.
Student BodyMost students are from Mass, NY, Conn, or Jersey. BU is really fast paced... everyone has a place to go and doesn't leave enough time to get there. Most kids are into partying as much as they can and are still doing well. Most people want to take advantage of this great city while they are still here!
In Closing...Boston University is a really great school. There is something for everyone, and a great off campus social life.
