BYU is awesome!
IntroductionBYU is a place where you can feel comfortable and safe. Everyone holds the same values here, so you don't have to worry about being pressured to do what you know is wrong. Academics are challenging, but you're not likely to find a better education anywhere else. You can meet and date people with your same standards, which is a blessing. Students who like to drink, smoke, or have sexual relations before marriage SHOULD NOT attend BYU. There is a very strict honor code, and if you cannot handle that, you would be better off going somewhere else.
Campus Life and Social LifeSocial and campus life is extremely busy. You have ward/apartment/dorm activities almost every night. There are tons of dances, clubs, trips, and places to go have fun around here. Weekends are full of dating and hanging out in groups. There aren't any clubs, but there are plenty of good, wholesome dances you can go to.

AcademicsThe communications department is completely disorganized and extremely hard to get into. The sciences are good, and foreign languages hold the number one spot in the nation. Workload is a lot, except if you are in the MFHD area; I don't see how you can have a lot of homework when your major is family. Professors are usually good. Check ratemyprofessor.com for specifics.
Student BodyThe typical students is Mormon. Some are from Utah, but a large chunk are from all over the nation and from several foreign countries. We are into everything that normal kids our ages are, but on a much more "wholesome" level.
In Closing...BYU is just an all-around good school. Stay focused and don't slack in your classes and you'll do fine.
