Why Choose BYU?
IntroductionLiving by the Honor Code is key at BYU. Everything that you do is centered around it. Teachers expect you to live by it and give you a lot more trust because you signed it. It makes dorm life so much more fun to know that creepy people can't follow you home and your roommates and floor buddies are more likely to be friends because you all have something in common. Stay away from BYU if you aren't willing to live by the Honor Code. If it annoys you, if you will end up complaining about it, stay away: you don't want it and we don't want to listen to it.
Campus Life and Social LifeIt all depends on how informed you want to be and how involved you are. There are activities (sometimes mulitple activities) that happen every weekend and plenty durning the week. If you live on campus you hear about all of them. If you live off campus, the apartments have their own activities, but you hear about most of the campus ones if you keep up with them. In short, weekends are what you make of them. You don't have to go far to find a good time and there are always people willing to go with you. Another thing is the awesome dances that go on.

AcademicsI guess that it depends on what area you are in as well as what classes you are taking. Math and Sciences are really intense but the professors and the TA's are really good about being in touch if you have questions. All in all, it depends on you and the choices that you make. Like any school, we have hard professors and easy professors. You usually know what you are getting yourself into though (like taking honors courses rather than just regular ones).
Student BodyThe student body comes from all over including vast amount of students from other countries. If you are intersted in languages, this is the place to go because there are people from so many different countries and the classes are really comprehensive. You will never get a professor who hasn't been to the country who's language you are learning and often you will even get a native speaker. People are really friendly to all different types, but to really be involved, you need to be in clubs, or live on campus, or both!
In Closing...BYU is an awesome place. One more thing that I would like to add for interested students (freshmen that is) is the Freshman Academy. It is such a great way to start getting involved and it makes things so much easier. You meet people and are able to have multiple classes with your group so that it is easier to make that first set of friends and get used to setting up study groups or weekend get-away groups. Plus you meet people with the same interests as you.
