Great Atmosphere but Lots of Work!
IntroductionThe biggest piece of advice I would give to a high school student considering Bryn Mawr is to expect work...a lot of work. I choose Bryn Mawr because it has a great atmosphere. People are very competitive with themselves, not with others. A student who thinks that college is about skipping class and not being prepared for discussions should steer clear of Bryn Mawr. It's hard to slip through the cracks here.
Campus Life and Social LifeRegarding social life, it is what you make it. There are a lot of parties on Haverford's campus, all which are open for Bryn Mawr students. There are several concerts each semester and there are many many clubs due to the cooperative partnership between Haverford College and Bryn Mawr. For example i'm a member of the Bi-Co Orchestra and play Lame Ducks Hockey Sunday nights, both groups are offered to Haverford and Bryn Mawr students.

AcademicsI am really impressed with the history and political science departments. I am also a member of the education certification program which has an excellent praxis component which allows students to go to various classrooms and actually teach first hand. Professors are all approachable and respond quickly to emails. Most professors also know their students' names which was one of the main reasons I went to Bryn Mawr. The great thing about Bryn Mawr is its partnerships with Penn, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges, so you have a wide variety of courses to choose from.
Student BodyHardworking and focused with the goal of really contributing to society.
In Closing...Bryn Mawr students are from all over the globe.
