Aaaaaaaamazing
IntroductionBecause of the fact that it is literally in the middle of nowhere, it is so unique and special. Students don't leave on the weekends (if you look to do that then don't come!) and there is such a strong community as a result. I visited not expecting to like the school a lot, and ended up falling in love by the end of the tour. My tour guide seemed so genuinely happy and I trusted what she was telling me.
Campus Life and Social LifeWeekends are consumed with parties, typically held by fraternities both on and off campus. Greek life is very prevalent, with over half of the students participating, but your Greek affiliation does not determine all of your friends. There are not really any clubs in the area, and there are 2 main bars in the downtown area that students usually go to if they are 21. Sports are not particularly huge with the exception of our basketball team which has gained a lot of recognition in the last 2 years.
AcademicsWe have four classes, worth four credits each, instead of the typically 5-course load you will find at most other schools. Because of that, each class is extremely intense and there is a lot of work to be devoted to each one. Professors are generally strict and difficult in terms of work load but are usually approachable during office hours and by e-mail if you have questions or problems.
Student BodyThe majority of students at Bucknell are from PA, NY, and NJ but we also have 10% from the West coast. Traditionally many students at Bucknell are very well off and tend to dress that way.
In Closing...Students are very fashionable.
