Cal Poly
IntroductionI chose this school because I'm from a larger city and wanted a smaller, intimate environment as a change of pace. If you seek any sort of urban stimulation as opposed to (or outside of) a tight-knit college campus, this probably isn't the place for you.
Campus Life and Social LifeEveryone's friendly so all parties on campus are open and accessible to students... that said, the party scene is essentially the entire focus of social life here. So if you don't drink, or for whatever reason don't like mainstream social events that involve kegs and muscular guys and girls in Abercrombie bragging about their sexual exploits over a drinking game, this probably isn't the place or you.

AcademicsThe architecture and enginnering programs are top-notch, as is the business department. The quality of teacher varies, but you can get more information and educate yourself with our sneaky little ratings system at: polyteachers.com. If you go in with a basic knowledge of what to look for (and who to avoid) you'll be set.
Student BodyMost of the kids here are from California, so "diversity" is all about what part of the state you're from. The girls are typical California for the most part - blonde, expensive jeans, high level of skill with an eyeliner pencil...the guys wear white hats and like if not play sports...with the obvious exception of nerds in both categories whose intelligence and studiousness elevates them above the fray. Otherwise, it's California all the way around here.
In Closing...It's a fun school but again, if you're in any way a city person, beware that this will be complete culture shock for you.
