IntroductionThe town here is the epitome of a college town: it's wonderful on a college-scale, but it's insular and student-oriented, so if you're looking for a big city you're out of luck. What it lacks in urbanity, though, it makes up for with its proximity to the beach - 10 minutes. So obviously, snowboarders have a harder time finding their passion around here than surfers.
Campus Life and Social LifeWeekends are fun here, given how close we are to the beach. For students looking to get out of town, we're close to both L.A. and San Francisco, and it doesn't get any more adventurous than that...
Or, for outdoorsy types, camping and hiking opportunities are right nearby...

AcademicsBusiness and architecture are awesome departments here - music and languages are less extensive and less popular, but still passable.
Student BodyThe typical student is very laidback. To generalize, most would fall into two categories: pseudocowboy or surfer. Culturally speaking, there's not much diversity, which is disappointing...
In Closing...Not really - if this school's specialties meet your needs and the shortcomings (lack of diversity, smaller artistic community) don't bother you too much, it's a great option. But it's definitely a somewhat limited environment.
