A Mixed Bag
IntroductionThink long and hard about whether you want to go to school here. Keep in mind it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. That means if you need to go to the mall every weekend, you'd better have a car or a sympathetic friend. Quite frankly, the only reason I'm going here is because it was the cheapest. They give all kinds of scholarships if you have a decent GPA. I'd say if you're a city kid and you like it that way, you should pick another college. Also there is not much racial diversity here, so if you're into that, look elsewhere.
Campus Life and Social LifeWell, pretty much all there is to do here is party. The beer flows freely almost every day of the week. However, in my opinion the frat parties suck. I'm more likely to just sneak around and drink in the dorms with my friends. Also it's really hard to find weed. Our Basketball team sucks but they have a pretty good following. Everyone LOVES the Football team. It's pretty easy to stay drunk all weekend during Football season. There are a lot of interesting clubs, and some you wouldn't expect for a hick town like Mt Pleasant. For example: we have a pagan religious group and a peace group.

AcademicsI'll try to make this as unbiased as possible, but it's gonna be hard considering that I think formal education is utter bullshit. I've heard a lot of bad things about the Music Department. Apparently it makes students hate music. However, the Theatre department is pretty good. Some of my best professors have been from the Theatre Department. At the moment I have a couple overzealous profs. They are so enthusiastic about their subjects but their classes are soooooo boring. Most classes are taught by professors, except for really basic classes like Algebra.
Student BodyThere are a lot of students from Detroit, Flint, and the Grand Rapids area. I guess a typical student would be conservative, laid back, and kinda dumb. Also there are way more girls than guys. Most students like to party, but they manage to get their work done too.
In Closing...If you don't drink, don't go here.
